Quartz Glass Sheet

PRODUCT DETAILS

Quartz Glass Sheet is a high-performance fused silica material made from high-purity silicon dioxide SiO₂. It is engineered for demanding environments that require extreme thermal resistance, excellent optical transmission, and strong chemical stability.

Unlike ordinary glass, quartz glass maintains structural stability under high temperatures and rapid temperature changes. It is widely used in semiconductor manufacturing, UV systems, optical instruments, laboratory equipment, and industrial furnace applications.

Why Quartz Glass Sheet Performs Better Than Ordinary Glass

Quartz glass is fundamentally different from standard soda-lime or borosilicate glass due to its molecular structure and high SiO₂ purity.

1. Extremely Low Thermal Expansion

Quartz glass has a coefficient of expansion as low as 5.5×10⁻⁷ /°C, meaning it barely expands or contracts under temperature changes.

2. High Softening and Working Temperature

· Softening point: 1725°C

· Long-term use: 1100°C

· Short-term resistance: up to 1450°C

3. Superior Optical Transmission

Quartz glass transmits light from ultraviolet UV to infrared IR spectrum.

· Visible transmittance: >93%

· UV transmission: up to 80%+

4. Chemical Stability

Quartz glass is resistant to almost all acids except hydrofluoric acid HF.

Material Grades – JGS Classification

Quartz Glass Sheet is available in three main industrial-grade materials:

JGS1 – UV Grade Quartz Glass

· SiO₂ purity: ≥ 99.9999%

· Best UV transmission performance

· Suitable for: ozone generation, UV sterilization, photochemical systems

JGS2 – Optical Industrial Grade

· SiO₂ purity: ≥ 99.99%

· Flame-fused manufacturing process

· Suitable for: semiconductor, solar energy, optical windows

JGS3 – Infrared Grade

· Excellent IR transmission

· Suitable for infrared optical systems
